We are thrilled to announce that the renowned grooming expert, Blake Hernandez, will be visiting Ireland for the first time!
(And its actually his first time ever in Europe!!)

6th of July 2024 Saturday - Demonstration Day
On the first day of the event, Blake Hernandez will showcase his grooming expertise through live demonstrations on 4 different dogs. The demonstrations will cover various grooming styles, including breed standard trims, everyday grooming, and Asian fusion.

7th of July 2024 Sunday - Hands-on Workshop day
On the second day, participants will have the exclusive opportunity to attend a hands-on workshop with Blake Hernandez. Bring your own dog and receive personalized guidance and instruction from Blake himself. This workshop is perfect for those looking to enhance their grooming skills and learn new techniques.

8th of July 2024 Monday - Certification Day
This is a very unique opportunity: get an internationally recognized certification on the day! And you can do as many as you want!

NDGAA Certification:
In this certification you must use a purebred dog in a breed standard trim. If you're using a dog what - by breed standard - needs to be hand stripped or carded, you are allowed to use clippers except for a Cairn Terrier. They must be hand stripped for this exam. Groomers will be required to supply their own dogs, table and equipment.

There's possibility to do written and/or practical tests in 4 groups:
- Non Sporting: Breeds allowed - Poodle any size or Bichon  frise. 
- Sporting: Preferred breeds: American / English Cocker Spaniel, English Springer Spaniel or other acceptable purebred dogs.
- Long Legged Terrier: Preferred breeds: Kerry Blue Terrier, Bedlington Terrier, Wire Fox Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, or Setters
- Short Legged Terrier: Preferred breeds: West Highland White Terrier, Scottish Terrier, Cairn Terrier

AKC Coat Type Certification:
There's only practical testing in this, no written exam available. You don't have to use a purebred dog for these exams!

Groomers will be required to supply their own dogs, table and equipment. You will have two hours to complete the haircut. Groomers will be evaluated in the following areas:
- Handling (interaction with dog & equipment)
- Prep-work (dog clean, brushed and nails done)
- Profile (balance, symmetry)
- Details (breed specific, blending, finish work)

This program is divided by coat types:
- Curly Coat
- Drop Coat
- Jacketed Coat
- Wire Coat

Blake runs Foxy Roxy's Pet Salon in San Diego, CA, in addition to competing in grooming contests and dog shows all over the country. Blake is a featured groomer in Netflix's "DOGS'' documentary and a contestant on ABC's Pooch Perfect Season 1, as well as a NCMG and 3-time Barkleigh Honors recipient. Blake has been nominated for 20 Barkleigh Honors in many categories, and is well loved and admired in many facets of the Groomerverse.
